From The Ashes

This aptly named piece is called ‘From The Ashes’. While out hiking I found the wood I used for this image in a burnt out campfire. Looking over the wood I loved the way the brown & reddish hues were complemented by the dark burnt areas. With these colours, along with the jagged appearance of the wood, I knew it was going to be a real interesting piece to work with. What added to the overall look of the image was how some of the dark areas gained a grey metallic look once the studio lights were on.
