Lambay Un-Earthed

This has to be ranked as one of my favourite collaborations so far! Not only did I get to work with an amazing company, with an exceptional product, but I also got to visit a destination that had intrigued me all of my life!

Lambay Irish Whiskey Company reached out to me, they had seen some of my previous work and had an idea for a collaboration. They were going to be releasing a prestige Single Malt 20-Year-Old whiskey and wanted to feature my art during their launch. You see, Lambay is an Island of volcanic origin that holds many secrets, one of which is an igneous rock called Porphyry - unique to the northern hemisphere.

Growing up on the east coast of Dublin, Lambay Island was always in my view but I never had the opportunity to visit this magical private Island. This collaboration was perfect. I got to create an art piece using a fascinating piece of rock and also explore this truly special part of Ireland.

First stop was getting a chance to visit the Island to hand-select a piece of this porphyry rock which was an adventure and as fascinating as I hoped it would be. The Island is full of spectacular views and unexpected wildlife. Once back at my studio, I was astounded at what I got to reveal hidden in this piece of Lambay Island.

My Lambay Rock art piece, titled ‘Lambay Un-Earthed’ is featured below.
